As someone who has experience on both sides of the fence as a blogger and a blogger network manager I know there are certain qualities each looks for. Being a blogger makes me a huge advocate for making sure that bloggers are compensated fairly and benefit from the program. Now that I've transitioned out of a blogger manager role, I'm definitely looking for a blog network that meets those standards.
It can be difficult to find the right one, so I'm breaking down some fast facts about a few of the large networks incorporating health and wellness, and other topics, to help you make a decision.
Relationship status: "It's complicated"
There are several ways to get involved with this network and it highly depends on how much you'd like a blog network to control your blog.
It's Publishing Network is the main way to get involved. To be part of this Network, you must place BlogHER ad code on your site, which then becomes a native ad unit for BlogHER. There are other ads you can also place around your site, which will be filled with ads based on BlogHER's relationships. You make money based on impressions and clicks, much like Google Adsense.
Becoming part of the Publishing Network also allows you to be part of sponsored content campaigns and other opportunities for social media, video, and more. Another option is to become part of its Influencer Network, which allows you to be part of social media campaigns. If you don't want to give up your blog space to BlogHER ads, you can always take part in their social media opportunities.
BlogHER also offers a syndication program, which allows you to either pitch an original idea or submit a post from your blog. If your blog is selected, they will pay you $50 and feature the content on their site, social media, and other places.

It's a pretty straightforward program that brings the brands to you. With a simple to setup account, your profile is visible to any brand that works with the network.
All you have to do is enter in all of your relevant information and the website creates your profile and media kit for you. You can even highlight up to nine of your top blog posts for brands to see when you apply for an opportunity.
You can choose from several different categories to label your blog including, sports, lifestyle, relationships, spirituality and religion, health and fitness, and more. Include your social media profiles and it automatically pulls your follower numbers. In this case, transparency is key and brands can determine who exactly they want to work with depending on all of the information you provide.
