As someone who golfs a lot (not afraid of some dirt) and spends a lot of time at the gym, that's what I look for in my skincare products. These qualities in the Sonya Skincare Collection have absolutely astounded me.
When I first tried the Sonya Aloe Purifying Cleanser, the strong lemon scent kind of stopped me in my tracks. However, I learned that the product has natural lemon and cucumber oils, which is why it's a little strong. The lemon is a clarifying agent and helps take off oily makeup.
One thing I noticed after rinsing my face was that I felt like it had left a film. While I was a little worried about it, I loved how fresh my face looked and how easy my makeup came off. So, I asked some questions at the company and found out the film is actually a moisturizing layer, mostly to do with the aloe vera gel in the product.
The cleanser is cream-based, as to help remove foundation and other makeup that is oil-based. It's not a dirty layer or something you need to scrub off. It's actually because there is a lot of aloe in it and it can be quite sticky on its own. If you think about rubbing aloe gel on your back after a sunburn, there's a slight layer that is on the skin that can be sticky and feel like a film. This is the same thing you're feeling on your face.
Well, after using the product many times, I've learned it's a feeling that takes some getting used to, but it's absolutely incredible. My face stays moisturized all day and night, especially after applying the Sonya Aloe Nourishing Serum that I reviewed in my last post.
I hope you enjoyed this review!
